Well, I'm needing a lot of help lately! This stamp is so cool - looks like a soda cracker with all the perforations. Does anyone know a date for this one??
Thanks again for all the great help.
Donna

Turkish military stamp 1898 SC#M1. Very pretty.
Don't have a current value. $2.25 mint in 2003.

edit- check the perfs. Should be 13. Scotts says perf 11.5 are forgeries.
Issued for Turkish occupation forces to use in Thessaly during the Greco-Turkish War of 1897-98.

Thanks James for your speedy answer! It's such an unusual stamp - do you know why it's perforated like that?

No sorry, no idea. It is nice though.
Have you checked the perforations to make sure it's legit?

James, not sure I know what you mean about checking the perforations. They look original? How would I be able to tell if they are not legit?
Thanks again, Donna

To measure the perforation, you can either use a perforation gauge, or else use a metric ruler and count how many holes per 2cm (i.e., the perforation number). Eyeballing it and given the 2 choices, I would say you have perf 13 -- but best to measure yourself.
