The Boggs book "Postage stamps and Postal history of Canada" 2nd ed 1975 page 342 mentions re-touches on plate 2 and 3 that have to do with the twists of cable as yours shows. No pictures in book.

Lots of pictures at re-entries.com ( http://www.re-entries.com/mapstamp.html ). as you told me in my 8c small queen thread.

Ah, the Map Stamp. I keep several examples in my Canadian Christmas collection, but I lean towards it NOT being a Christmas stamp at all. It had a very specific purpose that was not about that holy day / holiday.

Another resource you might check is at http://www.mapstamp.org/ , which has been affiliated with the BNAPS. ( www.bnaps.org )

Also, the reference to the re-entries website was slightly wrong, and leads to a 404 page.

Try http://www.re-entries.com/mapstamp.html instead.

Hi wert,
I meant that the link in bwdavis message was wrong. There was just a typo when the parentheses and a period were added to the URL. Simple error to make.
Hope the pointers give you the answers you are seeking.
