This stamp is not from Spain. The inscription says "REPVBBLICA ITALIANA", and is denominated in Lire. It is definitely 20th century, as Italy did not become a republic until after World War II. Another clue is inscription under the image, which ends with "Roma", probably denoting where it was printed.
This stamp can be Scott Italy #630, #681, or #998G depending on the actual size of the stamp, and the watermark.
The series is called in Italian "Italia Turrita" which describes the headgear, or "Siracusana" which get it's name from the fact that the design is based on an old coin from Siracuse (Syracuse), Italy dating from the Roman epoch...
