This rooster flew in from Trafalger Square, London, England and apparantly he has found something to crow about.

I've not seen that Channel Tunnel stamp before falconrw, nice stamp. I think on that occasion the rooster gave his wings a rest and took the train

Birds of South Africa 1998 stamps, flying from East London in Eastern Cape province in South Africa:

A Wattled Crane
(Bugeranus carunculatus)
lifting his foot because something took a bite out of the stamp !

and an African Penguin
(Spheniscus demersus)
(also known as a Black-footed Penguin.)
(also widely known as the Jack*** Penguin because of it's donkey-like bray.) (this name was censored)

Ortolan Bunting(Emberiza hortulana) from Brestanica,Slovenia flew on that special date.
Although there are millions of theses birds in Europe, it's thought numbers are declining due to habitat destruction.

John James Audubon, wildlife artist stamp, Scott #3650, mailed in 2002 from the island possession of the USA,
the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, in the city of San Juan,

a grouping of tanagers on three over-lapping stamps:
Louisiana Tanager ( Piranga ludoviciana) (the two top yellow-coloured birds)
and Scarlet Tanager (Piranga olivacea) (red-coloured male, olive brown and yellow female below)

The 1991 stamp is a Northern Cardinal(Cardinalis cardinalis) and has got to be the most popular bird in the USA This showy red bird is the Official State bird for seven states: Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana. As you can imagine it was very popular as a caged bird but sales are now banned
