From Royse, Norway, a 1988 fauna bird stamp, a Wood Grouse (Tetrao urogallus), caught in the act of crowing.
Also known as the Heather Cock or Western Capercaillie.

From Nassau, Bahamas on a slightly tattered 1991 bird stamp we have a Mangrove Cuckoo (Coccyzus-minor) peering at us through the cancel.

Cancel has a slogan 'Save Our Parrot' also.

A Great Grey Owl (Strix nebulosa) flying from Wolcottville, Indiana, USA, 46795 (1978 stamp). (The piece of paper is large with clearer cancels elsewhere.)

Check out all the latest additions to the google bird map...

I'm so glad you enjoy the map too Fifia. I must say it is alot of fun to plot the various town names on the cancels.

The map needs several plotters, especially when I'm moving house after next week. Puzzler, Leng or Fifia...can you spare a few minutes to add new uploads to the map...(instructions supplied). You would become collaborators on the map :)
