In the Unitrade catalog, the "C flaw" is described just under the #14, describing it as a DOT in C of CENT and a line in the oval under the C of CENT.

I guess this is it:

I found this image on a Maresh & Son auction (http://www.mareschstamps.com/473/au...1&InLine=Yes ). Look at auction #296.

I'm having trouble with the first stamp. For it to have made it into the catalogue, I would have thought it would be more defined than that.

Wert,

Well, I don't think so. I did check with my own copies (I have 17, 17a and 17b, so I think! I am mixing colors sometimes...) and all have C with rounded back. It look like the error give the impression of a "hunchback" (did I spell it right?) C while I think your's seems to be rounded (maybe a little misleading because of the cancel but round enough I think).

But yet again, I am no expert...

I know what you are saying, but the "C" in "cents" is more rounded than the "C" in "Canada".
That's why I am having trouble distinguishing between the 2 C's.
I am by NO means an expert, but if there is one out there that can set me straight, it would help.

1 - Left "C" is from the "C" in Canada.
2 - Right "C" is from the "C" in cents.

One is almost twice as big as the other...???

Wert,

Here is one of my 17.

I think that it is normal that the C of CENT is bigger as the C in Canada. It must have been design that way because my other 2 are the same.

Hope this can help you.

PS: I think you've overwritten one of the picture you attached in an earlier post because your "17" is now a post card.

it happens now and then with people.

If, during the same day (board time day), you upload a file called the same name as a previous one you already uploaded that same day, the last one will replace the previous one.

I find it is good to use a country name and some other identifier like the King or type of stamp or subject instead of just 'selection-2' or some such.

I know the selection idea is quicker in the short term but in the long run the naming of files as to their type and subject helps people using Google to find them as well as you to find them a year from now.
