I have two sets of the 1934 issue of the GB Sea Horses issue. I would like to get the opinion of the group as to which stamps, for each value, would yield the higher percent of catalogue value and why you thing that is the case.

These is them:

Thanks.

dealers have often advised me that centering is the main thing to look for if looking to buy quality with the thought of high resale value. That said I'd say Top half crown (both are nicely centered, but the top one has the cleaner cancel), bottom five shilling and top ten shilling.
I'm sure you'll get a multitude of opinions.

Ummmm, they're Sea Horses and I'd choose the top set if I was looking to buy. On the 2/- 6d it has a nice light cancel and doesn't obliterate the Monarch's Head. The 10/- ones are basically identical and the 5/- the top one has a better cancel. Now, are they the re-engraved set ? Perhaps a close up scan of each would help determine the issue. Also, don't be fooled by the catalog value on these as I just saw a sale of the 2/- 6d & 5/- selling for $10 US for the pair.

Here is a set with Postal cancels, not Parcel cancels as the Postal use commands a higher premium. The set of 3 went for a little over $30.00 US

Stallzer, thanks. Title corrected, I tend to do that. Sometimes it gets worse and I'll talk of Mulberrys.

I am not actually believing the catalog values and especially here when I look in SG, I'm just interested in what people think in the case. Because I am not sure.

Me? I think that the upper half crown and 5 shillings are better because of either the lighter cancel or in the case of the 5 shilling, the clearer date. Gnerally less smudge. WRT to the 10/,
probably the bottom.

The 10/- is a coin toss in my opinion. The top one has much better centering, but more postmark also.
