I've been cleaning out my stock books (making room for who knows what) when I found this interesting Polish airmail with a centaur. Looks like he's taking a lead on that airplane about to fly over his shoulder. It got me thinking of a thematic thread - Greek mythology, but on NON GREEK STAMPS. (Greek would just be too easy.) I searched. Found Norse mythology, cryptozoology, all sorts of other creatues, but didn't see Greek. (Admittedly this stamp appears on a astrology thread, but who believes in that hokum?! Besides my sister). So what can you show me from anyplace else but Greece?

jamesw - You're welcome! Postal Pegasus: Evolution of mail transportation, designed by Ion Dumitrana, printed by photogravure, and issued by Romania on June 30, 1949 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the UPU, Scott No. 707, SG No. 1086. A bit bizarre perhaps, but cool nevertheless. - nethryk |
