Hey guys. Just wondering how you guys mount your die cut self adhesive stamps in your albums? I have tried hinges and that doesn"t work very well as the stamps always seem to fall off.I have been using a poster sticky or putty and was questioning the wisdom if this practice. The putty holds the stamps in place very well and I can pull the stamp out if needed and return to the album with no damage to the stamp or the page. Please let me know if this a smart idea or a bad practice and let me know what you use .

There is usually a specially sized mount that Showgard or Prinz or Scott, etc., make that accommodate the slightly larger mount size needed for most modern commemoratives. In fact, I picked up a package of these not too long ago:

The noted size was intended for "UN Commemoratives" but the slightly larger size also accommodates self adhesive US stamps as well. Of course, you can buy them in strips and by several manufacturers, but most use this method.

As you have suggested, hinges do not hold well and I would certainly keep away from any of that "putty-type" adhesive to mount your stamps, as it may take awhile to tell if it will do permanent damage to your stamps, at which point it would be too late to do anything about it.
