stampvirgin, I hope you're going to show us some of your treasures as I've never seen any of the Vietnamese resistance movement's stamps from that era. I'd imagine that your collection spans the years 1940 or 1941 through 1954-1955. I've given some thought to collecting a country or entity that has a start and a stop date as does yours. Congratulations on an excellent area to collect and your success in "filling most all of the squares." Finally, just a bit of trivia, Viet-Minh is actually a shortened form of Viet Nam Dong Minh which translates to Vietnam Nationalists. |

Thanks for the thoughts. My indo-china collection is almost complete as well. I am missing and searching for about 22 stamps. I'll scan the other couple of pages when I get the chance. |

Hi stampvirgin, Where did you get the sheets to put the stamps on? I really like the layout / format.
Thank you, SueStamps |

the sheets I got at Michael's crafts.. You can go on the website for them and get coupons for %50 off, which is what I did. The layout of the pages came from stampalbums.com

Oops, stampvirgin, for some strange reason all I saw from your initial remark was the first line with no stamps showing. After I hit the submit button all those beautiful stamps came up. Absolutely gorgeous! Now that I'm looking at them, there are some really interesting aspects to so many of them. I was really intrigued by the one that I guess is identified as IL56. The original stamp depicts the last king/emperor of Vietnam under French control named Bao Dai. Those pages you've created are also superb. |

stampvirgin, as you could tell, I was quite intrigued with your Viet Minh collection. Wandered through ebay looking for similar stamps, and noted that many were quite pricey. Just happened to note that one of those that you're missing seems to be up for sale on ebay. It's the "planting rice" issue. The seller has identified it as YV59, but Based on the description on your page, I believe it's the same one. Wants $70 for it. Just thought I'd tip you off. The address is below: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vietnam-sta...em4162b729a2 |

thanks, the guy wants way over catalog.. I sent him an offer for about %50 of his asking price. That stamp is not worth that much money. |

very nice collection and I like your cover stock pages. I use 65 lbs too but cream color. One thing I don't like is that you wrote the cat. numbers. It look bad to me on otherwise beautiful pages. Bravo. Daniel |

stampvirgin, noticed on the overprint on your IL17-IL24. It's actually a portion of a famous quote from Ho Chi Minh. Less tone and diacritical marks, the full quote is "Khong co gi quy hon doc lap, tu do, va hanh phuc". Translation: There is nothing more precious than independence, freedom, and happiness. Cool stamps! |

Daniel. I don't like writing the cat numbers either, I wish I could edit the pdf file so I could put them in text. |

stampvirgin, I know it's an extra step, but you could always import the pdfs into a page layout program (quark, indesign, word?) as artwork and add the catalogue numbers separately. Depends how much time you want to spend. Lovely collection by the way. |

I just found out you can edit the pdf files. But I am not going to redo it for this one. Used to many mounts to redo the whole thing. |
