PACIFIC 97' World Philatelic Exhibition, San Francisco
January 15, 1997
The miniature sheet shows the wreck of the President Coolidge.
SS President Coolidge was a US luxury ocean liner that was completed in 1931. She served as a troopship from December 1941 until October 1942, when she was sunk by mines in Espiritu Santo in the New Hebrides. Since 1983 the ship has been used for recreational diving. The wreck is one of the most desirable dives due to relatively shallow site, easy beach access, and visibility.

Franklin's Expedition to the Northwest Passage
August 6, 2015
The three stamps commemorate John Franklin's ill-fated 1845 search for the Northwest Passage and the discovery in September 2014 of the sunken remains of his flagship HMS Erebus.
The se-tenant stamps are embossed to highlight the ice and land. The international-rate stamp combines the deck plan of the Erebus with a modern sonar image from the wreck.
