The overprint is

I have two stamp of these MNH..
BUT, one of them is missing the "QATAR" part of the overprint.

Any idea to value?

Hi Stampvirgin,

Look under Oman or Muscat and Oman. I will check my SG catalogue in a minute.

Edit : It is listed under British Postal Agencies in Eastern Arabia - SG 79 10p Mint, 20p Used.

My SG 2010 Commonwealth doesn't show the stamp for OMAN or MUSCAT, it was used in QATAR.

StampStudy,

I am using an ancient 1982 British Commonwealth catalogue. 65 is listed under St Edward's Crown watermark (W165) and 79 under Multiple Crown watermark (W179)

It is because I am using the all world catalogue and it does not list the two different watermark types. Thanks.

Stampvirgin,

I don't know about the price - it might be right.

Still, Israeli collections with strength in the 1948-1952 period (high cat. value) and in post 1986 period (can be used for postage) usually attract offers more easily.

StampStudy,

Yes it's true - the all world simplified cataloguye always lists the cheaper perforation and/or watermark.

Stampvirgin,

I understand. Still here in Israel the stamps which are sought after are the early ones (to 1952) and the ones from the last 20 years. These are offered by many dealers for postage at face value or a bit less (and in any case have some "real" value outside the collectors' market).
