There are a few certain sellers who I'd like to block permanently but I can't seem to this. Is there a way ?

Stallzer,

By saying "block" do you mean showing the search results without the items these sellers are offering?

And are you referring to ebay or to other sites?

Yes, exactly Seahorse. There are certain sellers that I have no interest in seeing their offerings and hate having to filter them out every time through the ebay advanced search. For instance there is one seller that lists bunches of 1cent Tiffany US Stamps for 1 cent each and has his buddy shill bid them for reasons unknown to me but I'd just assume to block this sellers listings permanently. Another seller constantly asks 90% of Catalog value for stamps that shouldn't garnish 20% and he keeps re-listing hundreds of them that never receive a bid and it just clutters up the listings.

Stallzer,

If you already use the sellers section on the advanced search option and than mark "exclude" and the name of the seller there isn't much more you can do.

It's almost contradictory to ebay's DNA structure to let you control the search results.

Stallzer,

Good question! I just tried using the advanced search function with a seller's ebay handle in the exclusion box and I got no change. What ended up in the search box was 'search topic -seller'. Then I tried it again with the box checked that says search entire message. Then the seller's items were no longer on the list but I got a bunch of other stuff I didn't want. You might be able to play with '-topic' or '+topic' on your search to fine-tune but you might still get stuff you don't want or lose stuff you do want. Good luck!

Karen

Other messages came in while I was fiddling with advanced searching. I works if you save your search '-seller' and then use Saved Search instead of typing in your search topic each time.

Stalizer, yes, STRONGLY suspect the person involved IS selling similar items under another Username that appears immensly cheaper in comparison(90% of Cat') but still 'more expensive' than obtainable from fairdinkum sellers(20% Cat').

A known SALES gimmick for shifty sellers, that's why the exorbitant priced items are continually re-listed - sky-rockets sales on their other site.

Have you tried
selecting "Include Descriptions",
selecting advanced,
selecting Sellers:
selecting exclude in the drop down box
then save the search in your favorites

This seems to work for me.

One way to block annoying ebay sellers is to go to Delcampe, bidStart or CQout for your stamps.
I have no monetary interest in any of these sites but have discovered that they are superior in every way to ebay.
Plus; if you have a problem you can actually email a 'human being' and be assured of a personal reply to your problem.
CQout is the best in this regard.

Never heard of CQout, I'll have a look. As far as Delcampe goes, it's so-so. ebay dwarfs the number of auctions of Delcampe and since my main area of collection is now into certain pieces, Delcampe just does not have the selection that I can find on ebay Stamps. Also the 300 day auctions are annoying. Bidstart has the same sellers as ebay and is more of a forum to buy from Dealers, which I try and avoid. They all have their place, but unfortunately none come close to the volume and selection of ebay.
