Two CAPEX 1951 covers from the Canadian Association for Philatelic Exhibitions, picked up today.
The first dated Aug 9 1951 contains a receipt for membership into the association ($10) for Mr. H. Stares

and has a nice big label on the back for the 1st Canadian International Philatelic Exhibition coming up that September.

The second postmarked Nov 15, 1951, after the exhibition, and with the exhibition logo as a cachet, contains a letter responding to a request for a couple of covers. Unfortunately those covers were limited and went only to "Life Members".
Life membership is $15. Should have forked over the extra five bucks, Mr. Stare.

jamesw..Nice covers and a great little piece of history.

I noticed they were mailed to the same person and address, but I bet they were NOT sent by the same person to this address...?

Great covers jamesw

I don't have any from the first CAPEX but I think I have some later ones - not sure.

I especially like the special 'cinderella' labels too.

Interestingly, I am, right now, working at a temporary freelance job, right across the street from where these were sent. The address no longer exists. An office tower has swallowed it up. Bloor St goes from 60 to 80.
I don't think this corner looks anything like it did 60 years ago.
