Have just finished putting together a collection of the stamps that were issued by the Polish Government in Exile (based in London) during World War II

This is not an area that I had any knowledge of or interest in until I saw that some of the stamps had been auctioned on SCF (as per below link) last year

https://goscf.com/t/17238&SearchTer...rnment,exile

After seeing the link I started doing a bit of research and found that there were not a lot stamps involved to be able to form a complete collection (in MNH condition)

The topic of the stamps and how they came to be issued and authorised for limited postal use was also very fascinating

Have added some links at the bottom of the page for further information

In regards to the stamps there were 4 issues only and these were as follows:

1941 - 1st Definitive Issue

1943 - 2nd Definitive Issue

1944 - Capture of Monte Cassino in Italy

1945 - For the Relief fund for Survivors of the Warsaw Uprising

A fascinating little collection if I do say so myself. My task now is to do a "write up" that will properly highlight them and what they stand for

Enjoy and thanks SCF for bringing these to my attention!

Congratulations on completing the series. It is one of my Polish favorites as well.

There are other Polish govt. in exile stamps & labels "out there." Michael Rogers had some covers in his auctions during the past year. I believe, without digging out auction catalogs, that some of these stamps are listed in the Sassone catalog. I also picked up some proofs of the regular exile issues, plus some other labels, in a Rogers auction. A Kronenberg certificate came with them.
