Hi to all
Today I went into an thrift shop and asked if they had any stamps.
There was one packet of predecimal Australia in the cabinet for $5.00
I said I would buy them.
The lady at the shop said she thought there might be some more out the back and she would look.
Well The photos only have tell it.
There is at least another 60 packets which I have not included in the photos, plus about 20 First day envelopes from the 1950s,
It is like winning the lottery without a ticket, there are thousands of stamps to sort.
Regards
Horamakhet

I bought a shoebox horde ( ebay) a while ago - lots of fun. I filled a ton of blanks and I even found a few gems.

I'm jealous.

All that will keep you busy a long time for a little money. I never heard of thrift shop that sell stamps in Montreal. At the monthly meeting of the Quebec Philatelic Federation I saw at the silent auction a large bin like the one use for recycling. It was full of US stamps on paper. The auction start at 1$ but I didn't watch it because I was participating to others. I can imagine myself bringing this home. Fill the bathtub and let soak all the stamps overnight.

Hi timbres667

Unfortunately finds like this are becoming rarer and rarer in the thrift shops now.
Many of them have agreements with dealers and it is just being in the right place at the right time.
My wife and I were not even going to call in at that particular time as we had to be back home to pick up the children from school, but we decided that we would try one last thrift shop and that is how I hit the jackpot.
When I begin sorting I will post anything interesting.
Regards
Horamakhet
