You have not lost your "touch"

Rene,
I may disagree, I locked myself out of the house, this morning.

Hi Jamessa

I agree with Rod, what I can see is fairly common, though there may be small flaws (flyspecking) on some of those stamps. I collect King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II with selected King George V and Queen Victoria.

If you are able to post stamps showing post KGV as well (KGVI & QEII, if any) I'll be able to identify them and if any have commercial value I will be able to give you a reasonable catalogue estimate, and possible current market value.

I noticed a Queen Victoria as well, hopefully those too can be uploaded.

Rob

Sorry for the bit of a vague post. Will have to try and find a good reference book or catalogue to look them up in. Doing my head in trying to google them. Got thousands to sort through from roughly 1880's to 1950's and last count 14 countries.

Hi people,
I am a new collector (collected as a kid) found my uncles old collection and wanted to know if anyone can verify these three?
Thanks in advance, I'm so confused with these stamps.

Wesart,
unfortunately we cannot.

I always use the example, of requesting a diamond ring valuation, if you stand 20 feet from the jeweller.

Tip: Depending on your experience, the best conditions for opinions are:
1. Clear "in your face" scan, on BLACK background.
Perforation Guage
Size of the design
Watermark

Then members here can give you chapter and verse on most stamps.
What you offer here is sadly, just not good enough.

Don't be put off, work towards these parameters, and your hobby will be full of surprises.
Good Luck.

Wesart,
Your stamps are from the 1937-49 zoological series on chalk-surfaced paper, watermark Crown over CofA.

There are two sets of perforations for the lyrebird on CofA paper.

They were:

Issued 1937: P 13.5x14 (more precisely ACSC P 13.64 x 13.82) and
Issued 1941: P 15x14 (ACSC P 14.75x14 or precisely P 14.92x14.08),

the former being of higher catalogue value.

Yours are the P 15x14 issues from 1941.

The catalogue value in the ACSC KGVI CATALOGUE - 2019 AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH SPECIALISTS' CATALOGUE BW 4TH EDITION KING GEORGE VI is AU$1.00.

In addition to the CofA watermark issues, there was a no watermark issue of the same perforation as yours in 1956 and a larger version of the design on no watermark paper issued in 1932.

Hi Wesart

First, welcome to the Stamp Community. The strip of 3 are watermarked C of A (Commonwealth of Australia), your stamp was issued on February 18, 1941. The perforation is 14.92 x 14.08 (14.75 X 14) but is usually gauged at 15 x 14). Colour - Dull Green.
The catalogue value is $4 per stamp, with the exception of the top stamp with the hinge remnant, as it would be worth considerably less.

Rob
