And one more for another night. Where is this in the Scott guide? I must be blind, but I can't find it anywhere... EDIT: Ok, one more. Where do I find this one as well? |

That is King George 6 KGVI on the stamps so it has to be from 1935 on. It is 1938, part of a larger set, your strip of 24c stamps probably used on an airmail envelope. From this set: I just noticed today that I had forgotten to mention the Canada 5c beaver stamp. Sorry, nice stamp and good looking cancel all in all. Canada 1859 5c, Unitrade / Scott #15 (unitrade uses Scott numbers under lisence) Look for varieties on this stamp, many different, reentries also, shades, perfs. Scan at 600 dpi and post in a new thread for help. Get a Unitrade if you want to get deep into Canada and even they do not list all varieties. |

Hawaii is either at the end or beginning of the US or off on it's own before it became a US state. Not sure of it's History, even though I did read the James Michener book years ago. |

Thanks Puzzler, I finally found Hawaii. I got your email, I'll be replying to it soon. Are these two along the lines of the cancels you like, or is there not enough of them on the stamps? |

Hi I prefer the whole cancel if possible and on cover (envelope) but that is not always possible on my limited budget so I take what I can get and hope that like attracts like magically. Once in a while I get a good one. The Spanish one is not too bad really. |

Alrighty, I'll continue to keep an eye out. What would the deal be with these? I can find these listed in Scott perforated, but not like this? Are these fakes? |

Look too good to be fakes or forgeries. Maybe official reprints? Is there any notes under the perforated listing? Sometimes the note won't be in the regular general catalogue but it will be in the Specialized 1840-1940 catalogue (one volume). Or in a different catalogue like Michel or something. |

Nope, no notes listed for the perforated listing like I find for other items. |

Searched for Russia Imperf found this one: https://goscf.com/t/24689You could send a note to Bayern and ask him to pop in to this thread and have a gander. Or start a new thread called Russia Imperf Help or something. Boy, the more I try to help others the more I wish I had a rack or two of good catalogues and literature. Must save up and keep an eye out for used stuff. |

I'm a fool. I am only just realizing how useful the index in the Scott guides are, lol. Is this one an imperf on paper, or one where the perfs have been cut off? And one more if anyone wants to take a crack at it. Can any of you make out this cancel? Ok, one more before I go for the night. There are two variations of these, on granite paper and white paper. I assume these two are on granite paper, but for future reference, just how whiter is the white paper? |

I can't believe it has been a week since I posted in this thread. I got a lot of Germania stamps and pulled these to post here. Where are the ones with the "M" in the upper right hand corner in Scott? Thoughts? |

Not sure on the Sweden, is the paper thick and it being maybe a cut square corner from a stationery envelope or postcard? Still could be an imperf stamp as the top has enough of a margin to convince people it wasn't perfed and cut close. I think stationery for foreign countries is not listed in Scott so a different catalogue would be needed if that is what it is. Just looked on ebay and there is a 1925-26 60 ore coil that has wide margins in the downwards direction. Hmmm. May be cut close. The cancel on the second looks to be Stockholm 15 / xxxxx Arsenal SG, perhaps an area of the city? Not sure. Date is day / month / year and is nice showing them all. The granite paper was discussed on SCF before I remember. Probably use the Search button and have a look. I think the backs would shows little flecks in the paper if granite, if I remember, haven't seen any in person. |
