I placed an order for three Titanic press sheets a couple of days ago, they were still available then. I did not know about the error at the time.
Only 5,000 sheets were produced. No doubt they will sell out quickly, now that the error is publicized.

I just ordered 2 and I swore I wouldn't buy anything new. I swear CP does these things on purpose sometimes. I must have 15+ printers sheets and they just sit in the tubes. Maybe I'll frame this one to go with the edmund fizgerald print I have. Be great to know how many get cut up thus rendering the complete sheet with even less of a qty. |

Quote: I swear CP does these things on purpose sometimes I wonder about that too Nitrolures. If all the press sheets were cut up, that would produce 15,000 with the missing stars. The more that are cut up, the fewer the number of full sheets will exist. Missing colour stars below: With stars: The two different shades are scan related (not my scans ) |

Sp, let me see if I have this right now. What everyone is saying (and has happened) is that on the souvenir sheets cut from the press sheet (which has 12 souvenir sheets on it) (4 across x 3 down) there are no coloured traffic lights (shown as stars in the bottom left corner of the sheet) on the 3 sheets in the top row on the right. But on the regular souvenir sheet you can buy at a Post Office or through the Philatellic Centre online or over the phone, or the remaining 9 souvenir sheets on the press sheet, the traffic lights (stars) are indeed there, as they should be. I looked on ebay (as suggested by Adminware site) and found one listed so far by ZatkaphilL, Item number 290709756268, http://www.ebay.com/itm/CANADA-Tita...em43afa6d96cOne hour left! Up to USD $16.59 so far. edit: fixed my error or amount available. |

And . . .
300,000 souvenir sheets printed for regular use but only
5,000 press sheets x 12 souvenir sheets each = 60,000 souvenir sheets from the press sheet with only
5,000 x 3 error souvenir sheets each = 15,000 variety souvenir sheets possibly available.
300,000 + 60,000 =360,000 total printed
- 15,000 errors . . . = 1 x 15,000 = 345,000 regular . . = 23 x 15,000
Regular sheet cost = $1.80 (price of stamp) (plus tax in Canada).
1.80 x 23 = 41.40 but will they go for that?
Not all of the 15,000 error souvenir sheets will be cut up.
Calling it a major error or variety kind of means it will appear in the major catalogues (Scott, etc), but will it (I am asking, I don't know)? |

Quote: Up to USD $16.59 so far. Pretty amazing, eh Puzzler, since a press sheet (with 3 errors) only costs $26.00 and are still available. |

Yep. Aren't Canadian stamps fun?!
CAD $26.95 (plus applicable taxes) / 12 sheets = $2.25 per souvenir sheet in my Details magazine.

I was looking at, and flicking back and forth between, the two images for the Titanic souvenir sheet on the Adminware site.
Is the Press Sheet souvenir sheet actually smaller in size than the regular one?
The latitude and longitude along the top are cut close on the Press sheet as well as (it seems to me) the bottom and left side of the sheet. Wish I had the money to get one and compare and measure.
I know you hoarders (ha, oh I mean stamp collectors, riiight, wink, wink) out there don't really want to unroll your sheets and possibly damage them. No fear. I will see what I can do here with my piggy bank. |

What do you mean?? Cats don't look like Turtles! Well I never . . . lol They are both personal (personalized / personalised) stamps. The original was issued in 2004 and they are still using the same borders (two different types available) to print people's personal stamps now. Called 'Picture Postage' (search ebay). Available through a link at www.canadapost.ca (not sure exactly where). or at the printer's web site (Canadian Bank Note Co) www.picturepostage.ca . Also search SCF for ' picture postage '. I happen to be on Canada Post website and see that these sheets are still available to purchases I thought they be gone like hotcakes once the error news came out. I bought 2 sheets a while ago and with the talk of the error I was interested in knowing if I could still be in a chance to pick up a sheet or 2 . Following ebay they seem to be fetching 25 - $30 per error so It seemed like a good investment (might be able to make a little profit and finish my QV jubilees ) But what I noticed is that when I first purchased my 2 sheets they had stated a limited issue of 5000 sheets when I was last on Canada Post website there is no mention of a 5000 item run. Has Canada Post reissued because of demand ? http://www.canadapost.ca/shop/colle...ecution=e1s1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I asked at my post office and she said that there is no limited release on them. She orders about 100 of them per week (lots of stamp collectors in my area) and there is no limit to how many she can order. She is a stamp collector herself, and she said that when she contacted Canada Post initially to order some, the amount in stock was "current issue, pressing ongoing". |

Thanks for that info, makes me laugh when they first said a limited run of 5000 sheets. |

time to considere a class action suit for misrepresentation. You can not publicize a low printing to initiate activity, and suck-in philatelists, and change the printing number after |
