There was a limited run of 5,000 sheets, according to Details magazine, April-June 2012. They confirmed it to me on the phone yesterday when I called the National Philatelic Centre. I don't think Canada Post has yet reached the stage where they would falsely advertise the quantities printed. They would be asking for legal trouble. No way. They are just not that popular despite the error. Apparently the Jubilee press sheet is even less popular, probably because of the $80 cost. |

I clearly remember on there website when I ordered my 2 sheets they had a limited run off 5000 and now there is no mention of the 5000. I take great interest in all things titanic as one of my grand uncles went down on the ship. I made sure to purchase a extra sheet to have framed. I a bit peed off with Canada Post for this one. like mystic said the lady running his local post office is ordering in 100 a week. probably everyone jumping on the band wagon with the news of the error if you ask me I think it seems like Canada Post deliberately did it. wonder how many sheets have been printed |

I am a bit surprised about the "100 sheets a week", as I had to order mine from the National Philatelic Centre, because none of the post offices I checked in the Vancouver area had them as there was little interest. Some did offer to order, but why bother when I can order myself and get delivery at my home for free. The Titanic listings on the CPC website have changed considerably (for the worst). Try even finding the press sheet by navigating the new issues. You have to go through the search app. As I said before, the 5,000 quantity is IN WRITING in Details magazine, so to go back on their word and change quantities Canada Post would have to put that in writing too. I really doubt this Canada Post would do this, it would be extremely bad publicity and will hurt them considerably with the loss of future collecting interest. If not, as Gilles said, class action lawsuit is possible. |

When I ordered my 2 (after error news) I did see the 5000 limited on the main philatelic site. As posted I don't see the limit any longer but I agree as with all the printers sheets that Canada Post has released they have always stuck to the original stated limit. I wonder if they could attempt to reprint 5000 without errors but even that would be a major let down to collectors and hurt them in the long run. To bad there was no way to track how many got chopped up. |

I cropped up one of my three like this: 3 pairs with error 1 pair without error (actually rarer than the error pair ) 1 horizontal pair 2 singles with extra margins to distinguish from the regular sheet I used my Fiskars cutter with a new blade for perfect cuts. |

For those interested around the tube containing the uncut press sheet is a band stating that this is a "Limited edition uncut press sheet ..... 5000 printed for worldwide distribution." |

Thanks for pointing that out, Serious Collector. I did not see the band because when I pulled my tube out of the box, it slipped off to the bottom of the box. I fished it out and put it back on: |

Thanks for reviving this - My 2 are still in the box same place I left them months ago. Anyone following ebay tends on the prices realized or have they died off. I know I seen at quite a few cut up for awhile but havn't paid alot of attention lately. Have to guesstimate that 500/1000 of the 5000 have been chopped between regular collectors and dealers. Be interesting to see if unitrade price somewhat reflects the potential loss of full sheets. |
