I took a trip to the local post office to mail a couple of letters that I wanted to get hand cancelled. While there I asked if by any chance if they had the $10 whale stamp the guy said I think we have a few in the back He came out with a corner pane of 2 stamps . I asked if he happen to have the other 3 corners out he came and I left the post office $80 lighter in the wallet. I really like these stamps does any one happen to know what the current unitrade price is I only have the 2007 catalog. I know face value is 10 but have seen them on ebay for 18 plus per stamp

Listen now, you're pulling our legs! The whales come in a pane of 2 stamps and that's all.

2405 = one $10 stamp.
2405a = pane of 2 stamps.

They are beautiful stamps though.

When you shine a UV light on the stamps you see the waves of pink-coloured krill that the whales eat, in front of the whale.

I watched a DVD on the Antarctic and penguins (who also eat krill) and they showed the krill close up. Little shrimp-like fellows.

Hey Puzzler

Wonder if the colour guide skin divers are made to realistic size of a human to this type of whale...???

Funny that Unitrade shows 4 colour lithography and if the skin divers on bottom left side of the stamp are an indication of some sort of colour guide...Well, I count 6 colours...???

Irishjack, the $10 whale is a definitive stamp, and probably will be available at the post office for face value for many years, like the $8 Grizzly. The "double face" is a standard value for common mint stamps and really means nothing.
