In yesterday's local stamp club auction, I purchased some material which included what I think are 3 Canadian Private Vending booklets - two of the red cardboard sleeve and one of the green cardboard sleeve. I also am showing the stamps which each contains. Can anyone add more information concerning them and value? Thanks!

I am unaware of these small booklets.

They are not in the Unitrade 2012 catalogue.

They appear to have been removed from panes of stamps as they do not conform to normal booklet stamp perforations such as having a straight edge on the bottom margin of the lower 4 cent stamp.

The five 1 cent stamps would normally be in two rows with one label or be in a signle line like roll stamps with each having two straight edges instead of being perforated 4 sides.

I think that they were prepared for sale through a private vending machine as you suggest.

Sorry ncbuckeye

Even though I have many Canadian booklets, these are new to me as well.

I have some as well. I was told by a booklet specialist that they were simply holders for stamps that one might carry in a wallet or purse. i.e. one tore some off the larger block at home, tossed them into this little holder with a fun our thoughtful saying, then were always sure of having a couple of stamps with you in case of a random act of mailing.

I remeber buying stamps in little folders in the 50's and 60's. My research suggests (only suggests) that these were made and issued by the Opal Manufacturing Company Limited of Toronto.
