Ok here's the scoop. I'm looking at the Mystic sales Flyer right now. The cheap three Volume American Heirloom like I have is DS111 $38.95 The Deluxe Edition Heavy Duty Binder (uses the same pages as above) DS114 three volumes is $68.95 * Note I'm sure it does not include the slip cases. This brochure does not list the Premium binder which includes the slip cases.
Call Mystic at 1-800-433-7811
You could call Mystic and get the full scoop right from Mystic.
You can buy slip cases from any Office supply store or probably school supply store. No doubt a lot cheaper than the Mystic slip cases. The cases stay on the shelf anyway so it really shouldn't matter unless someone is a perfectionist.

You can also make your own slipcases should you fancy. SG's Warwick slipcases at £35 for the standard and £84 for the exhibition version make this a viable proposition for me. Link below takes you to part 1 of an excellent tutorial vid, parts 2 to 4 clickable from there. Terry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccWnUQqFyKg |

Thanks for the extra info Chuck and Terry. It's too bad I can't just buy the hingeless pages from Mystic. I have access to plenty of gently-used high-quality binders. I'd be more than happy to forego the custom-printed binder to save some $$.
I didn't see that option, but I suppose I could call and ask if I could purchase the pages only. According to everything I've read here on SCF, Mystic customer service is generally very helpful, so it couldn't hurt. |

Zuzu Mystic's Customer Service is great. I posted their telephone number above two posts. I'll bet you can buy just the pages but doubt if you would save much. |

Quote: I'll bet you can buy just the pages but doubt if you would save much. You may very well be correct. I'll give them a call - hopefully sometime today, but who knows. I'll post here to let y'all know what I find out. *EDIT* How's their customer service if I use the e-mail form on the website? |

Hi Zuzu,
Last time I spoke to Mystic a couple months back they were willing to ship the 1847 to 1934 American Heirloom hingeless pages only without the binder to me in the UK. I should think this is pretty much standard. Cost was reasonable, postage horrendous. Will be ok in the US I should think.

So what is the break point between volume one and two... are the Farley's in volume 1 and re-issues in Volume two?

Quote: I don't know. I can call faster than I can type It's the opposite for me. And with e-mail, I have a record without having to take notes. (With my ADD, if it's not written down somewhere, it sometimes ceases to exist in my brain.) A rep. at Mystic just replied to my e-mail. They do sell just the pages, and the cost would be the regular price of the album minus $20. (e.g. Volume I hingeless is regularly $89.95, so the pages can be purchased separately for $69.95.)
To buy just the pages, the order has to be placed by phone so that they can put the order and price in manually.
I just replied to ask what the shipping cost would be for the first three volumes, because I always include shipping when comparing prices. :) |

I would buy the Albums for $20 especially if they came with the slip covers. Just my opinion. You can't buy good Albums for much less than $10 each. It would be worth it. They just look so nice. If I were to buy a BMW,Bentley or Lexus I sure would want to park it inside a garage not let it set outside or under a carport. The point is your buying the best album pages Mystic has to offer why put them in something that would cheapen them up. |

Hi TinMan,
I checked Mystic's site today and it lists the Premium American Heirloom binder and matching slipcase at $35.95. Could not see shipping cost anywhere on site.

Terry that of course is without the pages. If you didn't have the pages the Hingless album complete would be the way to go. The only thing I don't like about the hingless album is the hinges are clear. I like the black background but they can't put that in the hingless album because then you couldn't see the printed stamps. When my Wife bought mine three years ago they didn't offer a hingless album. Buying the mounts is expensive but I do like the black background. I think Mystic will offer packages of a thin black background by the package in a couple years. Strips the collector will cut to size themselves to slip in behind the stamp. Hey maybe I could get a patent on that Idea. |
