First posted on wrong forum. Sorry.

1851 9a A3 Error???

Outer lines: 21.25/21.5 wide, 25mm tall.
Inner frame lines: 19.5 wide, 22mm long/tall.
Brown or tan.
Significantly larger than (authentic)#6 A3 attached.

Have looked at Lyons "Album Weeds" ca 1920 and this stamp does not match any of his forgery stamps, however two things are of note: neither Scott Catalog nor Lyons gives stamp dimensions, and my brown stamp r4 corners filigree are different from the #6 A3 but do not match Lyons listed known forgeries.

Also of note is that the number of pearls and inner circles on pearls match Lyons 'authentic' and I believe there are the correct number of chin and neck lines to consider it a possible error stamp.

Any help is appreciated. Hope it really is the error stamp! Sure would make my day.

Bob+

Hi

I don't think that it is a color proof because the chiché is very different from the original, even in size.
There are noticeable differences in the Queen's face and hair, letters and ornaments of the corners.

This stamp was forged by Fournier, Seguí, Novellas, among others.
Even would be a cut from a brochure or magazine...I don't know.

Best regards
