Does anyone have a Showguard At Home Organizer? Is it worth anything?

It retails for $13.95 at this link, so I doubt it has much of any value on the secondary market:

I should have said "Is it worth having?" Bad wording on my part...

Couldn't you get the same results using something like this from the office section at Walmart? I also see these all the time at garage sales and thrift stores usually for around a quarter.

There are all kinds of organizers out there and with school supplies being the hot item right now, many are discounted at most office supply and department stores. I would expect that you could find something you could adapt for the purpose and not have to spend too much to do so.

Actually, I like the desktop plastic units with two or three drawers in it (usually +/- $5). You can keep most of your mounts in it and keep them out of sight at the same time. I have a desk organizer that I had used to keep stamp mounts in, but when it came time to pull one out, or when I tried to reach for something else and it accidentally fell from the desk, I had a real mess to clean up as those mounts do get all over the place. If you have them stored in an enclosure such as a drawer in a plastic desktop unit, they will be less likely to scatter. (Just my opinion.)

Hi

Like wt1 I keep all my mounts in a plastic desk top drawer. They used to come in a package of three and I have about 20 of them. I have 3 reserved for mounts, small, medium and large, I for cutters and perf gauges and 1 for album pages.

I do not like the Showgard organizer as it is in the way and prone to falling and making a mess. The drawers are best. Showgard used to offer a 3 drawer system but I do not see it listed anymore.

Each drawer is a little larger than 8.5 x 11 and is about 1.5 to 2 inches high. They are opaque plastic. I think I got mine at an art supply store and they were made by Eldon office products..

I Googled around but cannot seem to find what I had purchased years ago.

I have all my mounts in a plastic tub with lid and it's just not working for me. I'll have to look into these other organizers.

I should invest in one of these I have o many different sizes from collecting so many different countries I doubt one would od. Once you open the packet they seem to start falling out and mixing together it is a huge mess when you have a large amount of various sizes.

If you are using showgard mounts just open the top of the package. Pull the mounts out with the cardboard filler. With the cardboard the mounts are pretty easy to re-insert into the package without damaging the mounts. I like the Scott mount packaging as, at least the older ones, the package can'snap shut'.

Before someone asks, I prefer Showgard to Scott as I think the Showgard mounts are a little heavier, thicker and clearer.

Funny. I find the Scott mount background to be a darker black than Showguard when exposed to light. The Scott packaging is definitely better than the Showguard packaging.
