So there was no way I could pass up on this old paper dealers booklet with 6 mini-pages of German revenues inside. Heck, I only paid 25cents each which I though was more than fair for the lot. (yes/no ?? opinions?)

So, first of all I just wanted to post them and share them.

Next, if anyone knows if any of these are unique in that they are some local issue or happen to have some significant value or rarity or any other interesting facts about them that would be great.

Finally, if anyone really wants to dig through their Barefoot catalog or Michel or whatever book they may have that actually identifies them by some specific catalog number or year of issue, well who am I to stop you from doing that - knock yourself out. I have none of the above I just liked the look of them to add them to my worldwide revenue pages. Thanks!

Kurt

And I should add - I realize that the batch is "mostly" revenues with some other stuff thrown in. Not 100% rev's.

If you mean that you paid only 25 cents per book, not per stamp, then, yes, you made a killing - great buy and very nice stamps.

The Third Reich ones are quite interesting too and members of the TRSG (Third Reich Study Group) are always interested in those.

No it was per stamp - $25 for the entire lot. I took a gamble and thought it might average out OK with many lower in value but hopefully some higher ones. They just looked really interesting to me.

25 cents per stamp on average is not a bad price for vintage world revenues. World revenues in bulk don't sell at the same metric as postage stamps... they sell for much more. Depending on the country and mix, anywhere from $0.25 to $1.00 per stamp on average (without any heavy hitters) is the norm.

Yes, you certainly didn't lose on the deal.

If it was 25 cents per book, then it would have been a killing <G>

OK - not too many responses to the ID inquiry so I kept on digging here at SCF and also out on the web. I also changed the title of this thread to see if it will catch any new eyeballs/experts.

So, here on SCF I found these threads and thought that maybe I'd help out the next person digging around for info on German Revenues

Thanks to anyone who had any part in those previous conversations - it was very helpful.

I'm working my way through the majority of these but there are still a few I'm still stuck on. These are just crude enlargement - if anyone wants better scans, I can do that.

Stadtkyll is a small town in extreme western Germany. Think I drove through there 40 years ago.

Filderbahn, in its original meaning, is a cogtooth-wheel narrow-gauge railway.

"Wiederaufbau" means rebuilding, in this case from bomb damage of World War I.
