Just ordered mine. Seller out of town till June 27 so it probably will not arrive here till late July or August. I have time! Who here collects these Gulf States? I have a large cache of them dating back to the sixties. Been looking for something like this from time to time.

Sounds intriguing to me, but I'm not sure if I have the money to buy the gazillions of stamps.

Do UAE stamp collectors actively collect Trucial States stamps and covers?

ausfoo: Yes, they are! I collect the 7 emirates .. from stamps, FDC's, & commercial covers. I do buy philatelic covers (only) when I find something new about the cancels or postmarks that used during Independent era.

After seeing this thread I ordered one of the Michel Gulf States catalogs and I'm glad I did. Information on the Trucial States within this catalog, for me, has been difficult to come by. But, to be fair, the blue catalog pictured below has information that the Michel doesn't and the Michel has information the blue one doesn't. The Michel is most definitely easier to read and search. With the small about of research I've done on this subject it looks to me to be a challenging situation.

By the way this blue book in 1976 cost $2.00, Times have changed!

This catalogue is printed by M. CARUS but I am not sure if in Italy or in another place. I will be interested to buy the catalogue if ausfoo not interested! What about the stamps? Are these Mint, or CTO? Do you plan to sell them?

Yes, it is printed by M. CARUS and NO, none of these items are for sale at this time. I am a collector and have a hard time selling any of my treasures. Although, I was thinking about running an auction here in the Auction section, looks like that is out for now. I may go ahead with a for sale listing for some items but none will be Trucial States.

When I have the time I will research these Trucial State items and probably make some pages to add the the three Minkus albums that are full of these unusual stamps and sheets that I have now. I am just glad to know that there are collectors out there that enjoy these long disregarded pieces.

I have the Blue Catalogue, but cannot find it right now. my library is straining and groaning under the weight.

I have this fellow, but at 104 pages, too large to scan, maybe available on the web.
(The map inside is identical to the Blue Book, editor of green book is George A Tlamsa)

(PS Michel Gulf States is by far the best, in my humble...)
