the correct word for precancel in dutch is voorafstempeling. you can also use the phrase "voorafgestempelde zegel" what would translate in English as "precanceled stamp"

Philately + internet is a great mean to create contact around the world and to get information which were absolutely impossible to obtain 20 years ago. Or better now you obtain info in few hours while before 1995 you had them after some months.... |

I just found some Austrian precancel in Delcampe auction, while I did not find any lot related to Perů and to Danzig. Has somebody a sample of them as images to be uploaded here? bye fabio |

Jamesw: my old Darnell and Scott catalogues don't give precancel designations for those Canadian stamps. Does Unitrade give specific precancel identifiers for such stamps and if there is such a thing could I be so bold as to ask what they might be for the two (coil?) stamps that you have shown us. |

I am a little confused here, The Netherlands roller cancels are not "precancels" are they? Those roller cancels are applied to stamps on cover are they not?
Advice welcomed.
