I'm I wrong or does this stamp look re-gummed? The perforations at the top seem to show signs of re-gumming.

My guess that is the beginnings of rust / toning.

An ideal image to broadcast the reasons why slipcases should be used with albums.

In any environment, minute specks of dust float around in
the atmosphere at home, (shake a bedsheet)
They settle down on the tops of things, especially
nice stamp albums in bookcases
hence the top of the stamp shows where dust may have settled and advertised for moisture.

I agree with Rod. Regumming would have left gum soaking at the ends of the perfs and the fiber at the perf ends would look much different.

To go back to Rod's statement about dust. I do agree with that completely of course. But would mounts not do the same? All of my collection of Transportation Coils is on pages that I print myself and I keep them in three ring binders. About twenty of them, and I need more!
