I have a strange feeling about these.... in best case these are replicas... second and third: UNLISTED errors (and I mean that these are not listed in Yvert&Tellier= major french catalogue. 25 c on left, right is 30/ respectively dark brown with 80 respectively 30 c) First seems a late usage for me, although I`m not 100 % sure) |

If you need a quick answer and paid much for them, I`d say cancel the deal....I really hope they were offered as replicas. Perforation seems also odd... first should have a 14:13.5 perf... These stamps (I mean originals) have hiiiigh CV (the first around 1000 Eur, according Mi) IMPORTANT: I`m not an expert in France!! ASK OTHERS... I`m sure here you`ll find experienced collectors. If you still lead to take my advice: shortly- In my opinion these are forgeries. |

The 5f Napoleon looks very dodgy. This is an expensive item so ripe for faking. This is a rather tatty legitimate one. The 80c is the wrong colour, only a 20c was issued in black and the pink one has two different values. All the perfs look wrong too and the cancels are all too perfect and show incorrect date usage for the issues. Sorry. |

SCF is a collectors forum for help and opinion. Members should be reponsible for their own ultimate decisions, we can only call it as we see it. I thought all the postmarks look dodgy and I really don't collect France as well They stuck out like a sore thumb to me, I would have been hesitant to call it. You did well Daniel. Albeit I think Paypal give 60 days for complaints. |

I'm late on the bandwagon, but at the very first look 2 minutes ago, I thought - impossible cancel on the 5F... ===========later Duh! I keep looking at these - I just noticed that some of the 5 stamps have identical cancels, in fact I "think" 4 of the 5 are the same, plus one with dots under "Paris." A very bad sign. |

These top 5 stamps are forgeries; I collected France and these stamps are bad forgeries. Trust me |

And just one small detail: even if they were legit, none of these is considered mint. I think you're using that term to mean "nice condition", but, with stamps, it really implies that (1) the stamp is not cancelled, and (2) that has gum on the back.
There's usually additional info provided to convey the condition of the gum -- whether it's all there and totally undisturbed (MNH "mint never hinged" in the US), is all there except the stamp has been hinged (MH "mint hinged"), or if the gum has been removed (MNG "mint no gum"), and one variation on that, if the stamp was not issued with gum -- sometimes it happens! -- (NGAI, "no gum as issued").
Do invest the time to look at the introductory pages in the beginning of any volume of the Scott catalog. This will pay off in dividends.
But mint is not really the appropriate term to use here.
