Using Only Stock Books For 25 Years.. Am I The Only One?

Since I have started to collect stamps 25 years ago, I have only used stock books. One of the first question on philately I had in the beginning was: why people spend money, time and energy to stick hinges on stamps which lowers the value of the stamp itself? Off course you can use mounts but not everybody does that in order to put stamps in their albums. Maybe some people would laugh at me but this is the fundamental question I've had up until now.

I personally think stock books are neater. You can also easily remove or replace stamps when something adds up. If you use mounts with all of the stamp you have then what is the point of having an album? A stock book would be perfect for it. Every other collector I have encountered told me I should put my collection in an album. I felt like Im the only one to use stock books to hold my entire collection. Am I not?? How people actually do preserve their collection?
