When Kazakhstan first became independent from the USSR, one of the Soviet stamps they overprinted was a tiny little Yuri Gagarin one. They overprinted "Kazakhstan" alternating Latin and Cyrillic alphabets.

I was surprised: about Gagarin not shown stamps of USSR and Russia. I want to correct this deficiency. Stamps of the USSR, in chronological order, starting with the April 12, 1961:

I think that's all of them from the USSR Alexey :)

Are those scans from your own collection? I've got almost all of them. I'm missing a couple of variations, imperfs, inscribed or uninscribed.

The UK Royal Mail had their Olympic Gold Medal winners stamps on sale the next day using digital media... but this kind of feat was done many years ago in 1961 by Czechoslovakia who put out two RECESS PRINTED stamps of Yuri Gagarin's flight.

Date of flight...12th April 1961
Date of issue..13th April 1961

The East German Russian occupied lackeys weren't far behind.

Scott 549 issued April 18, 1961

Scott 550 issued April 20, 1961

I don't have the 25pf (Scott 551) which is one of those Speerwerte meaning they were restricted as to who could buy them.

Try a specialised search on ebay, etc
e.g.

Just a thought - you could think about Gagarin postcards.
