I started a seperate thread for this Gagarin-related question. I found a Kazakhstan stamp that seems to have an image of Gagarin in the background and I'm looking for opinions. https://goscf.com/t/32817 |

I really like that Romania series. Even now, there's still such animosity between US and USSR/Russia that it's surprising to see Cosmonauts and Astronauts together. |

Here's a USSR cover commemorating the 30th anniversary of Gagarin's flight, with additional cancellations commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Baikonur space port ("cosmodrome") in Kazakhstan. |

Kazakhtan - 35th anniversary of Gagarin flight cover franked with Kazakh stamps and cancelled by Russian/USSR postmarks - not uncommon in early-mid 1990s |
