Dr. Jose Verocay was a Uruguayan by birth. At age 13 was sent by his parents to study in the Austrian Empire, where he became a medical doctor specializing in neuropathology. At various times in his life he lived in Austrian Europe and his native Uruguay. Unfortunately, he was under appreciated in both areas until after his death.
