I got here a little question, more like a request can some one find me some info of this Tobacco stamp, I couldn't find any info on the web or my scott catalog could not find any either.

PS. I hope I placed this thread in the right section, can some one tell me if I did or not. Thank you.

Someone with a Springer Catalog will have to guide you on that one.

I think it's a Springer #TF331. Not sure of valuation, though. (Obviously, the holes in your example will adversely affect value.)

These are listed in a series of catalogs called Springer. This stamp is a "7 pound Indian" series of 1916, this image was used on a number of values and series from 1910 to 1955.

Thank you wt1 and revcollector for the help and I do know with the holes will bring the price down, but something to state about myself I don't collect for profit but I collect for the knowledge and the fun from learning about the styles of collecting to the details of this enjoyment. Which that might be a gawmy way of collecting but it's the fun and a learning experience.

Sorry if it sounded like I was being defensive but I was just stating my opinion on my style of stamp collecting. Thanks again for every piece of info it will help me in the long one.

These stamps were used directly on packages of tobacco, so condition is not viewed quite the same as with many other types of stamps. Having said that, this item is somewhat below average since part of the design is missing because of the holes. Creases and/or minor thins are much more acceptable and would usually be considered faults consistent with their use. I would think retail value of this example is perhaps $2-$3, a nice one perhaps $5-$7.
Although not true for tobacco stamps, there are some types of taxpaids that were roller cancelled, nailed, and varnished to their containers, and so not only do all used examples have significant damage but some are quite scarce to find at all.

Yep - wt1 was correct. It is a #TF331 from the Springer catalog (one of my favorite catalogs).

Listed for a dollar back in 1985 - using the rough x10 inflation that makes it about $10 today for a really nice copy, so I'd also say that revcollector nailed the $2-$3 price estimate for this one.
