Hi,

just issued, you pull the tab and the stamp becomes 3-D.

Don't pull the tab before putting the letter in the mailbox. The bird is going to get squish on the way. There is a dutch woman in the video who's first name is "Fleur", a french word meaning "flower". I've been to Netherlands a long time ago and met then a dutch woman call "Jacqueline". It seem it was in fashion for Dutch parents for some time to give a french first name to their daughter. Interesting for me being french Canadian.

I would like to see that one pass through the post. I assume is would be mangled by the sorting equipment.

A stamp made for stamp collectors. Will Scott give it a number?

I think the Netherlands really has its eye on juvenile collectors. I was going through a lot of modern Dutch stamps recently, and I've never seen so many designs that were clearly targeted at children. Mind you, this is probably a good thing, as stamp collecting is one of the few harmless pursuits available to children these days.

I think it is another silly issue that has become some sort of tradition here in the Netherlands over the past few years. Apart from its sillyness, this is also a rather unnecessary issue aiming to empty the collectors' pockets as it has a very high nominal value and is only available in a sheetlet of two. So suppose someone wants to send a letter that weighs two kilograms, that person can use such a stamp. But most of the time when someone is going to send a heavy letter, he or she goes to the postoffice to have it weighed and then the clerk will put a meter stamp on it.

Since I had heavy letter to send to a SCF member on the Philippines, I bought a sheetlet and used one of the stamps. Now it's waiting to see in which state the stamp arrives.

Hi,

the letter has arrived and the addressee has sent me these pics. Seems as if the stamp has successfully made its journey through sorting and cancelling machines.

Hi,

the stamp is 4x4 cm and 0.8 mm thick. Next time I use one I shall put it on a weight scale

I assume that when you soak it off the pop-up mechanism will no longer work as intended.

It indeed looks as if there is no postmark, but there is a way to get one, the Dutch have a letter envelope that looks like a small thin parcel (for letters up to 2 kg), these are processed manually.
