Hi nodeli
This is when a normally cheap collection (not bad stamps or worthless I mean but, low catalogue value) can become a richer collection. The cancels make this collection, where the catalogue value might fail. This is a good thing too because it is now a specialized collection with all of those cancellations, whic can enhance the value as well.
What you might want to do with them is find the history behind each post office. Try to find their opening and closing dates etc.
I do this for the area I live in and whenever I am writing up a collection with postmarks I will add the name of the postmaster who most likely processed any particular cover or cancelled stamp.
Just a suggestion of course. Nice cancellations you have there.

This was posted on another topic but relevant to here also. I ofter buy bundles of Edwardian postcards at markets for a few pennies to check out the postmarks and have found a few local (to me). Many of the postmarks are from places with exotic sounding names which no longer have post offices. Among the "goodies" I have this Leap Year postmark... |

Keep an eye out for this type also. They can be found on postcards of that era. Made with the Bickerdike cancelling machine in Victorian times (VcrownR) and Edward VII (EcrownR) too. The Canadian Postal Supply Company sold several machines to the GPO. |

Nice collection, lots of fun to be had there! I think the second one down might be "Huddersfield". Which is in Yorkshire.

"are the squared circle type more scarce than the duplex?"
Not as far as I know. I think they were used as an alternative to the duplex postmarks as they were easier to use. As you can see with your duplex postmarks off paper, a duplex covers two stamps although an origin is possible with just the number alone. Squared circles are collectable in their own right (as are the "thimble" postmarks). They were actually never used Scotland where I live. |

Thankyou Rod222 for the help in identification. I went back and edited my previous post and added numbers to them, and will from now on do likewise to all other pics I scan. Lesson learned. Thanks once again. |
