I am trying to watermark some British Anarctica stamps that are lithographed and can't seem to get any mark to show whatsover - yet Scotts says (I think) that it has to be one watermark or the other - "no watermark" is not an option. I have done the Ronsol and the black background and tried the scanner although I may not know the procedure there. Am I missing something?
The watermarks on many Elizabethan era stamps seem to be almost impossible to detect. Watermark fluid seems to be of almost no value, nor is the Morly-Bright detector. Signoscope sometimes helps but not always. I too would like to hear from any member who has found a reliable detection method.
