I did not find Scott for this stamp, do you have an idea for the stamp? Merry Christmas.

This is a badly-faded copy, or a color changeling, of Scott #5. In this condition, it's worth 5% of catalog, or less, but no question that it's a genuine 6d. |

No, my dear stamp in good condition, and not change the color, and I own 10 years ago, but I did not find any information about it. I hope that does not make me feel frustrated without being sure of the answer. Greetings |

The imperf Hope 6d triangular could be SG 7 (slate lilac) or SG 20 (mauve). However yours looks like it is pale greenish blue. Therefore I would agree with Doug that it is either faded or the colour chemically altered. |

How do you know that? And what is a chemical that can be turned violet color, so you can view it behind a postage stamp? |

the colour has faded on the stamp - it is not the original colour - look closely at the colours on the two "S' letters on the stamp and compare them |

It is common for that shade to occur after chemical cleaning.
Your item has been fiscally cancelled and some one tried to clean the pen marks using chemicals, hence the result,

Answers are not convincing. If this stamp belongs to you, you're going to think this way?? |

If this stamp belonged to me, and I didn't know much about it, then I would say that the opinions of people hear are probably close to the truth. Everyone thinks (knows) that this is a stamp with faded colour due to some sort of cleaning/altering (whatever you want to call it), and NOT a print/colour error. Answers seem pretty convincing to me. Why even bother bumping this old thread anyway? |
