I have a "serious" mint NH collection of Canada, and I collect anything worldwide for which I have a catalogue. And I have lots of catalogues! I have more fun with the piles of worldwide dross, I must say.

Hi, I am brand new to this forum and have been browsing it for a while. I am impressed with the knowledge I see here. I have been collecting on and off since the early 60's but have been more or less serious for the last 10 years. I collect US, up to 1960, Canada, and covers from or to Washington State. I currently spend time trying to ID us classics such as the 3 cent Washingtons, Scott #10, 11, 25 etc and other 19th century US. I am not very good at it, but keep trying. Zeppelins are, to me, very interesting but kind of expensive. I got to ride on the only actual US zeppelin that came to Seattle a couple of years ago. Regards to all. |

Everything that I collect does not have a page to finish on. It is all made up of pages filled & being filled. To have a page to finish collecting those stamps on would be the day I stopped learning about those stamps. KGV |

Nitrolures: Quote: I've been diagnosed with SADD (Stamp Attention Deficit Disorder) Bounce all over and get serious for about a week and then see something else that makes me go hmmmm and off on another tangent I go. I think this disorder is highly contagious and aggravated by proximity-- especially virtual proximity-- to other enthusiasts! I thought I had my disorder nearly under control (denial? ) but then I joined SCF. Here I discovered nooks, crannies, breadths and depths, previously unknown to me. What next? |

I said can't be described because ... I collect US and Canada some topical - stagecoaches, coaches, buses, Central and Western NY state, some Wild West, bears, Coins of Syracuse from Italy
Plus ... a, trying to collect some interesting definitive sets from various countries - Mexico, Norway, etc.
And .. got into collecting the early issues of the Channel Islands
And - looking at some South American countries ....
And - I like covers that are categorized as "event covers" .. world's fairs, foods, fruits, whacky events (Pancake Race, Onion Festival ...)
Not too much BOB, not even airmails, though, I realized lately that I really would like to have some early airmails from some countries ...
Let's face it .. if I like it . I wil accumulate it and hope I can turn it into a collection someday!

I've been a collector since I was 10 years old; in 1960. My collection is world wide and was originally based on the 1963 edition of the Harris Senior Statesman album. In the early 1980s, I transitioned to the Scott Blue Internationals, parts I - V (1840-1965). Within my worldwide collection, I specialize in Portuguese colonies, going past Part V to the main end of the colonial era in the mid-1970s. Macau remained Portuguese until 1999, but I stopped Macau also in the '70s. I have "sub-collections" of US, Canada, Poland and am starting to get into Mexico. |

Focused on one county and that's Finland. But that doesn't rule anything out, I won't say no if I see something intresting from somewhere else than Finland. |

Collecting anything and everything that someone else does NOT want - common, damaged, duplicates - for Holocaust Stamps Project, now underway for four years, attempting to symbolize each of the 11 million lives, taken in the Holocaust, with a postage stamp. Teaching lessons of tolerance and the value of diversity from the images and sources of the stamps, many of which would have been thrown out as valueless trash, a metaphor for what happened in Europe to human beings. If you, or someone you know, would like to participate by sending stamps, every single one will be very much appreciated by the students, staff, and parents working on the Project at Foxborough Regional Charter School, 131 Central St., Foxboro, MA 02035 PROJECT WEBSITE for more info: http://www.foxboroughrcs.org/studen...amp-project/ |

I collect what catches my eye and some countries I am collecting to completion. As a result I have masses of stamps and boxes of stamps to be gone through and mounted someday in my binders. I get the urge every now and then and will sit and mount for hours then life, job, and other distractions gets in the way and I don't touch them for weeks. It is a great hobby. I highly recommend it. I collect U.S. only.. Plate Blocks and singles. I have lots of duplicates and more of both. Both in Mint and Used. All my plate blocks are MNH. I started out collecting World Wide then after a year decided to just focus on U.S. Then I decided even Sheets are too difficult to handle. Although I still do have quite a few U.S. Sheets. |

I guess I would be described as a true world wide collector since WW is my primary interest. However, I do have a large MNH US collection and have focused more on some countries such as Germany, Australia, Japan and Scandinavia. WW is the most fun for me because when you get bored with one area, you can always switch to another. |
