Idle time Wiggy? I am at work working . As mentioned earlier, I was in Vancouver the last date of the old rates and the kiosk was out of order. I was lucky to get a set of three from another SCF member here. I hope to get into Vancouver soon, and will get you the new rate stamps. Will give you a call then. |

Successful trip to the Longueuil kiosk. It's at 2686 Chemin Chambly, not the other address. A very pleasant Nicole not only explained everything she actually did all the button pushing (except my PIN) to get the nine values. I brought an inch of card board stock for the weighing and needed a few nearby paperbacks to get the weight over 500 grams. She said there were two more kiosks open in Montreal, on St. Catherine Street. One at Jean Coutu Pharmacie (corner St. Matthieu) and the other at Post Office station (Sucursale H) (corner Dufour near College Lasalle) I would need Cal516's address to be of any help. |

I'd like to get a basic set of the 3 easy to purchase values (I'm not convinced I need to spend around $17 to get all nine), but I'm reluctant to publish my contact info for the whole world to see. If someone is willing to buy them for me and there is a way to contact me through the forum by private email I'd like to hear from them. Doug |

Quote: Hi, Is there a way to find where are those machine are install and where they plane to install new one in the future? Canada Post posted this on their Facebook page: Did you know—Canada Post is introducing self-serve kiosks throughout Canada. Users can purchase pre-printed stamps and choose their rate of postage (domestic, U.S., oversized and International). The stamp image, shown here, is pre-printed w...ith secure fluorescent ink on label stock, with the kiosk printing a 2D barcode and a postage amount that can be read by Canada Post cancelling and sorting equipment. Currently, kiosks can be found in Toronto at the Adelaide Post office, 31 Adelaide St E; Station B, 119 Spadina Ave; and The Toronto Domininion Building, 52B - 66 Wellington St W. Find them in London at 387 Wellington Rd. and in Vancouver at 349 West Georgia St. (Main); The Bentall Centre, 595 Burrard Street, and in London Drug Stores at 710 Granville St. and 525 West Broadway. Watch this page for news of more to come as well as details on the OFDC. |

Plus the three new ones in Montreal I reported on. (I have not actually visited the 2 downtown ones on St. Catherine Street.) Perhaps eyeonwall would like to contact me? |

Here's the latest announcement from Canada Post Facebook on CVS (edited): On January 29, our kiosks went live at Station H at 1974 STE-CATHERINE OUEST and the post office in PHARMACIE JEAN COUTU at 1675 STE-CATHERINE OUEST, both in Montreal. On January 30, the one in PHARMACIE JEAN COUTU at 2687 CHEMIN DE CHAMBLY in LONGUEUIL went live as well. |

I visited the Station B kiosk at the corner of Adelaide and Spadina, Toronto, this afternoon. Canada Post employee Dave provided excellent assistance. Dave told me that the machine that had been originally installed in December was replaced with a new one last week. The first model was not wheelchair accessible. The screen and slots for cards in the replacement machine are now lower than those in the first model. This is a photograph of the new kiosk: This is a trial period and it is likely that there will be further refinements. I had some difficulty when I tried to enter a postal code. I have mailed two letters with the labels to my home address. In both cases the automated sorting machines rejected the envelopes from the stream. One letter received a pen cancel, the other a porelon cancel. It may be that the cancelling and sorting machines have yet to be programmed to accept the labels. It took a full week for one of my letters to travel the 40km to my home. If this is typical of most mailings, then this is a serious flaw. Customers would be better off using regular stamps. The machine prints labels for packages but once the label has been printed, the package must be brought to a postal clerk for scanning. This defeats the purpose of speedy self-service. Here are the relevant screens and a printed parcel label and receipt. Dave is a great person to have assisting customers with the kiosks. He is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable representative of Canada Post. I encourage you to drop into Postal Station B and say hello to Dave. Although the kiosks seem to have caught on in G.B., Europe and the U.S., I'm not convinced of the need for the machines in Canada. |
