Students at Foxborough Regional Charter School in Massachusetts are learning about the importance of tolerance, respect for diversity, and the dangers of prejudice through their work on the Holocaust Stamps Project. As they work towards collecting 11 million stamps to honor the memories of every victim of the Holocaust atrocities, they are depicting some of the lessons they've learned by using thousands of the donated stamps to create 18" x 24" collage artworks.
This collage, called "Love Thy Neighbor", recalls the heroic acts of the Danish people who helped more than 6000 Jewish neighbors escape to Sweden, by hiding them on fishing boats, thus avoiding capture by the Nazis.
Thanks to those in the stamp collectors' community who have generously donated some stamps to the Project!
