Kind of a great concept but only problem is you still have to load each one at a time.

I believe that the hinges used to come stacked so as to easily load one of those- they later stopped selling them in stacks so a hinge dispenser became impractical.

They came in a small, flat box of 1000; interleaved 100 each// two neat rows of 500 each. It use to be a great way to dispense an unfolded hinge. You would insert 300 to 400 into the s.s. chamber; slipping the tube back on the black pedestal. You could then pull a single flat, unfolded hinge out of the dispenser, with the tip of your finger. You then folded the hinge to the size you wanted. It use to be a great way to dispense an unfolded hinge.

The only problem came was when you tried to insert a stack of hinges into the tube. If you rushed, you sometimes played "pick-up hinges."

I haven't used hinges since the mid 1960s. I recall being thrilled at just being able to get "pre-folded" ones. I had that "lick em and stick em routine down pretty good. I never knew about "hinge dispensers" and can only observe that they appear to be more trouble than they are worth. But, I could be wrong.

Based on this recently closed ebay auction, there is still a market for such things, probably based on their "antique" value, as I doubt there is any practical use for the item anymore. Still, $77, plus shipping, seems like a hefty price for such an item today:

Anyone know anymore about the manufacturer, the LZ Company of Philadelphia?
