Various kinds and manufactures. Basically the stamp will slip in a sleeve that forms a row on a page. Some will actually lift to completely cover the stamp. These pages my have holders made of glasine paper, archival paper, or mylar.

This is a good question. I have two. I would recommend not getting the kind where you count on glassine strips to hold in your stamps. I prefer the cardboard pages like these. Press them down in there well, but of course, carefully.

I didn't know the cardboard pages were still made. I have not seen them for years. Where did you get yours? thanks, yakboomer.

I prefer the black Mylar type pages, like those made by Vario. The stamps are more secure than if they were behind glassine, but they are fully visible, unlike the cardstock pages shown in this thread.

I use the Vario type pages for mint stamps; the manila stockbook pages for used stamps. And yes, the manila stockbook pages are still available, as shown here:

I prefer the cardboard stock for used and the Vario type for mint and my better used stamps. Being able to see complete stamp is a great advantage.

I recommend Lighthouse stock books. I use the stock books for "temporary" storage and recommend Vario pages for housing your permanent collection for presentation if not using a stamp album.

I use Vario pages for larger items like souvenir sheets and covers.

I'm hooked on Vario sheets..they offer so many options to accommodate all different stamp sizes...and I just noticed that they are "Made In Germany"..which was a big surprise..I thought everything these days is made in China.
