Hi!
I've just gotten back into the hobby last year, and collect US stamps. By chance I read that the US Post Office puts out a Stamp Catalog each year - which was a total surprise to me.

I bought an edition on ebay for $10 and it just arrived. The title is "The Postal Service Guide to U.S. Stamps" 34th edition. The book is 11x9, 355 pages, and gives an overview/specs/pic of each different US stamp, right from day one.

I also have a Scotts Specialized US Catalogue, and this makes a nice companion to it.

Ha, I can't believe I've never heard or seen one of these before....

I use that reference all the time, too. By the way, the current catalog is the 39th Edition and is available direct from the US Postal Service for $21.95 at this link:
