I've been waiting patiently for a registered letter from Berlin. It was sent on 21, Jan. Deutschepost last tracked it on 24, Jan. USPS says it has received notice of the registered letter from Deutschepost on 24, Jan, and that was the last entry in the tracking system. Is this normal?
I would call the USPS and file an inquiry. You just need to have the registeration number, the sender's address and your address. A few times when I've had registered mail drag out to European countries the phone call seems to resolve issues - lights a fire under them a bit. But as Phil said, 6 weeks is a bit long.
I hope your stamps arrive! I have had rotten luck with USPS and registered mail from Europe. USPS doesn't track foreign registered mail. Here's a link to my first foray into US customs.
