Hello everyone

I have been trying to find information (a list) of classic Italian cancels, but with no luck. To be specific I am looking for cancels for the 1862 Victor Emmanuel series.

Can any of you point me in the right direction?

Regards Fourjacks

Welcome to the board ,your question needs a better detail request as to what your looking for .I have a few dozen of various cancels. Can you show a scan ? Many of the higher values have blurred ink on them to make their value higher than mint copies .

Thank you for the fast reply. I was wondering about these cancels - especially the perforated yellow stamp in the top row, next to the red. I am not sure if it is a genuine cancel.

I know the quality of the picture is pretty bad.

Here is a better scan of the stamp.

Is it possible to tell if it is a genuine stamp/genuine cancel?

Given the catalog value of genuinely cancelled stamps, I would suggest expertising. Regardless of what WE think, no one would purchase these without certification.

I have an Italian stamp site bookmarked:

http://www.ibolli.it/index.php

I have not used it very much myself as my interests lie elsewhere most of the time.

There was also an Italian gentleman who visioted Stamp Community a year or more ago that had his own site and a link to it on here but I cannot find it immediately.

Thank you both for your replies. I will look into having an expert examine these stamps.
