Have just been reading that listing 100 items per day on ebay is a lot of listings. Has anybody worked out a quick way to list?

Hi KGV Collector
The only faster way would be the turbo lister, but that still takes time as you have to change the descriptions in the template. Horamakhet |

I tried this a few times, and it worked OK. Send an email to yourself. The Subject is the title of your listing. The Message is the entire description. Ctrl-V twice, and you're nearly done, except for loading images. These emails can be done at your leisure, anytime, and because the "title" shows in Outlook Express, they're easy to find and identify. I don't think this methodology would work very well in Gmail. ebay has so much superfluous baloney and so many UNWANTED "features" that clutter up their listing form that it's hard to be efficient. But of course they don't care, never have and never will. |

You can use a spreadsheet program to write up your listings, etc. and upload them to TurboLister. Templates are your friend too especially if you are listing similar material. |

I never had enough volume to even consider TurboLister, and my material has always been so diverse that templates don't work either. But for some dealers it's the BEST method by far, especially those who deal exclusively in a single country. |

I actually made a few templates to cover different materials - covers, stamps, postcards, postal stationery, etc. I wrote the program in BASIC. Each item has an assigned number in order. When I run the program, I enter the first and last numbers and a country name if I wish. It then generates a template list complete with partial title and item description including the html photo links as well as country name if added. I just then go back and fill in the blanks and adjust the number of photo links from the default if needed. Normally I use a word processing program and copy and paste the completed listings into TurboLister. My next step is to alter the program so I can get those templates to work with a spreadsheet or come up with some sort of formula to work directly in the spreadsheet.

Thanks for the feedback it means a lot. Listings is a very lonely part to ebay that is very rarely talked about so I have no idea where I fit in so to speak. But after a few comments I am starting to get the idea. I can do a listing in under 90sec and cruise at 2mins per listing but there is 30mins per 150 scans + 3hrs to put the lots together. Each day we have a different type of Australia so all I am changing in a listing is a, part title description, an image and sometimes a cost. By the sound of things I do not think I can get it any quicker which does surprise me. We also have very fast inter-net hook up. We are 1km from the tower as the crow flys and we have a land line hook up as well. Image loading is instant. Have found it is quicker to crop as I list. So I must be using Turbo listing or the next best thing? |

If you write up one listing that could be used as a template with minimal alteration each time it is used you can save it on your ebay listing page for re-use. I have a few saved to cover various subjects. There is a maximum number you can save though. Still saves time listing. Terry |

Hi Battlestamps. I have picked up that your ebay listing is very different to most sellers. You wait till the free listings are on and you go for it. So you must store up your listings over a period of time. I can understand what you are saying but the how is beyond me. I am very happy with the way I list. That is more than I could say before starting this thread. |

I like using previous listings that are still shown on My ebay. I click List Similar and just Copy and Paste from a listing made up in Microsoft Word 97. Old stuff still works. I use old HTML language, learned bit by bit, to write up a description so I can have my own pictures shown at the size I want, without people having to click on them to view them. I need to learn more little tricks about HTML so I can have a better listing on any site or my own web page also, linking back to ebay probably. ebay's Turbo Lister is a faster way to list but you have to learn it, and usually get the patch that makes it work from the US site (maybe nor now?). Other listing tools are Ink Frog, Auctiva, and others, in different countries. I have not used any of those after learning HTML myself. |

Hi Puzzler. Quote: I use old HTML language, learned bit by bit, to write up a description so I can have my own pictures shown at the size I want, without people having to click on them to view them. With more expensive items I would love to do that sort of thing. |

I would usually set up scheduled auctions at my leisure. Set them at a date out in the future. Then when ebay offered a free listing day or I was ready to launch them, simply do revisions to start now. By doing revisions, auctions would be spaced at less than a minute apart. Really good to hold buyers interest if you have some common items. |
