I have never seen what is inside a Prestige Book.

How many stamps are there in a book?

I would think there is a lot of info about the stamp inside.

Very interested KGV

Unfortunately Australia, like so many other countries has gone over the top with the issue of Prestige Booklets, which is why I no longer collect them.

The two Lighthouse P.B's are, in my opinion, the best issued by A.P.
This one consists of twelve panes of which four contain stamps. The se-tenant pane illustrated shows all the stamps. The pane showing the 45c stamps is in a block of four - the two 49c panes show pairs - then the se-tenant with all four stamps illustrated.

The remainder of the panes (interleaves) show pictures and/or text.- information about the signal flashes of each lighthouse, the location, etc, really good details. Each stamp has its descriptive text and illustration with salient information.
Hope that gives you an idea.

Then again

there is the Leunig 'Teapot of Truth' P.B. if you like offbeat stuff!

Regards

Ron.

Thank you very much Penguins!

So there is 4 stamps each, per stamp set, per booklet?

Set of 5 stamps = 20 stamps per booklet.

John,

No worries, but not all the PSB's are the same.
It depends on the issue.

The Birth Centenary of Albert Namatjira booklet issued in 2002 for instance has five blocks of four 45c stamps, four blocks of the individual stamps and the last pane has all four stamps together. Also that booklet has two postcards included in it (not postage paid ones though)

The Classic Cars issue has four blocks of four plus one postage prepaid postcard.
So there are heaps of them and a lot of different layouts.

If your local library is as good as ours you would be able to take out a catalogue that would give you information on them (though the catalogues are usually about 4 years behind the times<grin>

Cheers
Ron.
