Can anyone id this for me? I've been through an entire world stamp album and searched for everything I can think of on ebay, and none of the countries seem right. Looks like SE Asia - I was thinking Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, etc. No country name in Roman alphabet. All it has is 1964 - 1974 and obviously (I think) it's a celebration of independence / new regime, etc. Thanks.

No catalogue nearby, but I think this is from North Korea, judging by the country name and the general style of the stamps.

Tinus_NL is correct, North Korea.

In the 2011 Scott catalog, #1190-1192(25Feb1974).

The triptych commemorates the 10th anniversary of the publication of "Theses on the Socialist Rural Question in Our Country", also known as "Why Doesn't Our Illustrious Leader Care about Us?" (published posthumously).

IIRC, the lion with a sword is a symbol of Iran.

Yes, Iran. Found it, thanks, but it says "Postage tax" on ebay -- is that something different from a regular stamp?

Hi Jan,

This was a tax stamp used on telegrams. Stamps with the same design but different face values were used as "postal tax" or "obligatory tax" on postal items.

I don't know the details for Iran but many countries require tax stamps like this to be added to postal items on certain days.

Yes, it is a postal tax stamp, used to pay the postal tax on letters.

There are several watermark/perf varieties of this stamp, most of them very common. You will need to check the catalog for final ID.
